About The Creators
Phyllis Goodyear is a retired region minister from the American Baptist Churches of Indiana and Kentucky. She has worked with congregations in pastoral transition and those seeking to discern God's vision for their congregation. In addition to coaching pastors, Phyllis has taught workshops on discipleship, hospitality, and worship. She has also served as pastor of two congregations. Phyllis earned a Master of Divinity from Christian Theological Seminary following a career as a professional writer and editor.
Jan Goodyear was a middle school language arts teacher for 33 years before taking early retirement in 2001. She edu- cated herself on church transformation and applied that knowledge through consulting with churches on visioning, structure, leadership development, and Christian education. Jan worked on several projects for the Center for Congregations in Indiana. Since 2012, she has been Church Leadership Strategist for the American Baptist Churches of Greater Indianapolis where she has led 10 churches through vision discernment and has facilitated discussion of church leadership books with pastor groups.
